Note: Kite's name is Kite in the real world. Blackrose's name is Akira in the real world.(Akira is the name she has in the book .hack//another birth) Akira is now the same age as Kite, I know she's really two years older, but not in this story.


She blinked a few times as 'The World' came into view. She looked in awe at the realism of the game. The wind gently brushed her snow colored hair against her tan skin. A cold chill went down her back as she sensed a presence behind her. She whirled around with her azure eyes darting back and forth. Nothing but the chaos gate was there. It was pretty late and not many were logged on. She saw a few people talking to each other so she clumsly made her way down the stairs.

"Newbie," they whispered to one another.

She stood up straight with her hands to her chest and looked at the ground. 'Who would want to teach me how to play this game. I have no experience. I-I'm just a s-stupid newbie...' she thought to herself. She was on the brink of tears when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Um..excuse me, do you need any help? You look quite confused." A boy said. She turned around and looked at his characters features. He had electric blue hair and azure blue eyes. She always loved looking at people's features. She thought it was so interesting to see how people differed. She giggled a little when she saw the red triangles on his cheeks. She thought little markings like that made your character unique.

Kite looked confused when she laughed. 'Maybe she's insane' he thought. Kite sighed and muttered, "Why do I always get stuck with the crazy ones.."

She didn't quite understand what he had said, but she brushed it off and smiled, "My name i-"

"Move it!" A boy came running by and knocked the girl over.

"Hey you ass! Watch where your going!" Kite yelled, "Oh, by the way sorry for not introducing myself. I'm Kite." Kite held out his hand with a bright smile on his face.


She smiled back and shook his hand, "I'm Paper Wolf or just Wolf or i guess you could just call me Paper."

"Nice to meet you. Are you new to the game?" Kite asked with a smile.

"Yeah I am." Paper Wolf said with her head dangling.

Kite laughed a little, "Don't worry everyone was a newb once."

He put a hand on her shoulder, "Come with me and I'll teach you the basics and maybe help you level up a little ok?" He winked at her playfully and Paper Wolf smiled brightly back.

"Ok!" She jumped and clumsly climed up the stairs dragging Kite behind her.

They appeared at a random level 5 field.

"Don't you think this is a kind of high level place for me?" Paper Wolf asked looking a little nervous.

"Yeah, but no problem, I'll help you." Kite smiled. "Did you join this game by yourself? I was invited here by a friend." Kite's face fell a little when he thought of his friend Orca who was once commatos.

"Yeah, I joined by myself, but supposibly three of my friends, Okui, Chiro, and Yaiso, should join in about two days. They are trying to find FMD's." Paper Wolf laughed a little, "I told them they could find them anywhere, but they always make things more difficult than they are. Although I do too, so I can't talk."

Kite found himself smiling and thinking of what Paper Wolf looked like in the real world. "If you don't mind me asking...what is your name in the real world?"

Paper Wolf smiled, "Meisu!"

"That's a nice name, my names Kite," Kite blushed. "Yeah I don't have much imagination when it comes to making up names."

Kite taught Paper Wolf all the basics and helped her get to level four.

"Sorry, but it's getting late, I have to go. Thank you for your help! See you later."

With that Paper Wolf logged out and Kite stood there thinking sort of in a daze.

'She seemed nice,' he thought. 'Wonder if she'll be on tomorrow.' Suddenly Kite got a flashmail from Blackrose instructing him to go to Delta Hidden Forbidden HolyGround.

"I guess I'll go even though....," He grumbled, "it's about 1a.m." Kite sighed and gated out to the Delta server where he quickly put in the key words and warped. 'I wonder what she even wants,' he thought.

'Kite your so slow!' Blackrose thought. 'Argh! I hate waiting, but I guess it's worth it to see him.' She smiled thinking of Kite. Suddenly she heard footsteps in the church. Blackrose whirled around and saw Kite walking up to her.

"Kite!" Blackrose smiled brightly, "What have you been up to? I don't get to talk to you much in school anymore."

"I been busy, with the projects we've been having." Kite sighed, "You know, it's getting kind of late. Don't you think we should be getting to bed? We have school tomorrow."

"Such a worry-wort!" Blackrose argueed, "We don't have to be to school till 8:30, we have plenty of time."

Kite sighed, "What do you want me for anyway?"

Blackrose blushed, she couldn't even remember why she had called him up.
"Um...I-I don't really remember," Blackrose gave a nervous laugh and looked at the floor.

"Well if you don't need me, I'm going to bed," Kite waved, "see you tomorrow."

Kite layed on his bed as him mind wandered through random thoughts, "I wander how old Meisu is? Why should that even matter"

"Argh!" Kite grumbled as he threw the pillow ontop his head. He fell asleep after about an hour.

The sun rest upon his body huddled under the covers.

"Kite! Time to get up!" His mother yelled from downstairs, where she juggled breakfast, packing lunch, and getting ready for work. His mother was always in a hurry, and always seemed to be gone, except for in the mornings.

Kite jumped out of bed and gathered his clothes. As he headed toward the shower he saw his dad walking toward the living room with the newspaper and a cup of coffee. His father knew his way around the house like the back of his hand.

Kite stood in the shower and turned on the cold water which sent chills up his spine. He washed his tan skin and dark brown hair before stepping out of the shower onto the cold floor. He put on his school uniform that was a white shirt, red tie, brown pants, and a green jacket that held the school symbol on his chest. He ran downstairs with his azure eyes fixed on the breakfast on the table.

"Good morning mom!" Kite said as he sat down at the table with a big smile on his face.

"What are you so happy for?" His mom asked smiling.

Kite smiled, "Nothing, just happy today I guess."

Kite's leg moved up and down rappidly as he impatiently stuffed breakfast down his throat. He had about an hour before he had to leave and start walking to school. He stood up, thanked his mom, and ran upstairs.

"Hopefully she's on.." Kite thought. "Maybe I should write her a message real quick."

Meisu was sitting at her desk when she had an urge to play 'The World.' She placed her FMD on her head and clicked 'The World' icon. She heard the quick melody that meant she had a message so she took her FMD off and clicked the mail icon. It was from Kite.

It read...

"Meisu, I know it's early,(well for me) but would you mind meeting me at Delta Hidden Forbidden Holyground."


Meisu placed the FMD back on and entered 'The World.' "If it's early for him too, I wonder where he lives."

Paper Wolf appeared in Mac Anu and she quickly went to Delta Hidden Forbidden Holyground, before she was too late.

Kite waited patiently near where the statue of Aura once stood.

"I wonder if she's even coming." Kite sighed.

"Of course I came!" Paper Wolf yelled from behind.

Kite spun around on his heel to become face to face with Meisu's character.

"You rang?" Paper Wolf laughed.

"Yeah, I just wanted to talk I guess."

"About?"

"Anything.."

Paper Wolf laughed, "If you don't mind me asking, where do you go to school?"

"Satoshi High." Kite said as Meisu's eyes went wide.

"Are you serious!" Paper Wolf jumped up and down eagerly as she blurted out, "I go there too!! What grade are you in!?"

Kite was speechless.

"Earth to Kite!" Paper wolf yelled as she waved her hand in front of Kite's face.

"Sorry. I'm in twelveth grade. I'm a Senior."

"Oh. I'm a Sophmore."

"Hey, I have to start leaving in just a while. Um, how about I wait outside the school at the gate for you. So we can meet."

"Ok!" Paper Wolf smiled, "I can't wait! See you in a little bit!"

They both logged out at the same time as they waved bye to each other.

"Woah.." Kite ran his hand through his hair. "I acctually get to meet her. She's a sophmore? Should have guessed. I wonder if she role plays her character...so maybe she's not even like Paper Wolf in the game."

Kite sat and thought for awhile. "Well, I'm about to find out who she really is!"

Kite ran downstairs with his bookbag slung over his shoulder and he grabbed his lunch as he ran out the door.

Meisu had a huge smile on her face as she slammed her FMD's on the desk, "OH!!!! I can't wait!"

Meisu ran out the door with her bookbag and hurried down the street. Her heart pounded as she ran down that cracked sidewalk. "What should I say? Hello? Are you Kite? Do I know you from somewhere? Argh! What should I say!...What would she say-Paper Wolf-I wish I were you so much. Pretty and you can talk to anyone. Ohhh.."

Meisu bounded around the corner to her school. Where she bumped into a boy with brown shaggy hair.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" The boy said.

"Um, s-sorry." Meisu said.

The boy helped her up.

"You shouldn't be late for school, we have about fifteen minutes." He laughed and started to walk over to the fence.

Meisu walked behind him. "Excuse me, but um, does your name happen to be Kite?"

Her face grew bright red.

"Meisu?" Kite said.

"So it is you." Meisu said, "Sorry for bumping into you."

"No problem!" Kite exclaimed.

He walked up to her and gave Meisu a big hug. Both of their faces went red, but Kite didn't let go. Once he realized how long they had hugged he stepped back blushing madly.

"Sorry! Just happy to meet you." Kite laughed.

"Y-yeah...me too." Meisu started sweating. She was a nervous wreck. She didn't know how to act. 'He's an uperclassman and..and..cute! Oh no. Now I have a crush on my new friend!"

"Um you wanna go in or sit here for a little bit?" Kite questioned.

"I guess stay here for a little while." Meisu said sitting down.

They found themselves talking about the world and not school at all. When they heard the bell ring the hurried inside and gave a quick farewell.

"I'll see you at lunch!" Kite yelled.

"O-ok," Meisu stuttered.

She turned on her heel and began to walk but suddenly bumped into a tall upper classman.

"Sorry!" Meisu exclaimed a little to louder than necessary.

"No problem," The girl said laughing. "Just watch a little more ok?"

Meisu nodded and walked off quickly.
